Middlegate Garden was created out of a derelict site in 2004. The £170,000 regeneration project has transformed a once bomb-damaged site into a community garden with apple trees, public art and street furniture. Among its new attractions are:  ‘Wish’ a 14-foot Corten steel sculpture and ‘Lost’ bronze Swill baskets both created by Alison Atkins. Fellow artist Andrew Tanser created a stone sofa carved from a single block of Portland Stone and a human sundial.. All the works reflect the rich history of Great Yarmouth and were built using high-quality materials and traditional skills.
